The Owen County Prosecutor’s Office is responsible for prosecuting violations of Indiana state law within the Owen County judicial circuit. Although elected at the county level, the Prosecutor represents the State of Indiana and serves Owen County, which is the 78th judicial district.

The Prosecutor is tasked with upholding justice, protecting public safety, and seeking fair outcomes in criminal cases. This includes felony and misdemeanor prosecutions, child support enforcement (IV-D), and representing the state in post-conviction proceedings. The duties of this office are defined in Article 7, Section 16 of the Indiana Constitution and further detailed in Indiana Code (IC 33-39-2).
