The Surveyor assembles and assesses land and geographic information which is used for planning and regulation of the land, the sea and related structures.
Surveyors duties may include:
Working out the size and shape of an area of land
Working out the position of boundaries of public or private land
Compiling and evaluating data and interpreting codes of practice
Studying the natural and social environment, measuring land and managing resources and using the data in planning development in urban, rural and regional areas
Planning, developing and redeveloping urban or rural property, land and buildings
Planning, measuring and managing construction works
Producing plans, maps, files, charts and reports.
