Department Responsibilities

Road Deputies
Owen County’s deputies patrol over 700 miles of roads, responding to calls, conducting investigations, and protecting the public. Our team also includes K-9 units trained in drug detection and suspect apprehension.
K-9 Units
Our K-9 officers assist in narcotics enforcement, tracking, and officer protection. These dogs are highly trained and vital to the department’s operations.
Community Outreach
The Sheriff’s Office supports community crime prevention programs including:
- D.A.R.E.
- Neighborhood Watch
- School visits and safety talks
- Fair and festival security support
