Sending Mail to Inmates
To send mail to an inmate:
- Address the envelope directly to the inmate’s full name.
- An inmate number is not required.
- All mail is subject to inspection for security purposes.

Visitation Guidelines
Scheduling a Visit
Visitors must create and have an approved account prior to visitation.
- Create an account at www.homewav.com or use the kiosk in the jail lobby.
- Upload a clear, unfiltered photo of your ID and face.
- Filtered or unclear photos will result in account denial.
Online Visits
- Inmates may have unlimited online (at-home) visits.
- Required equipment: webcam, microphone, speaker, and internet connection.
On-Site Visits (Lobby Kiosk)
- Inmates may have up to 3 lobby kiosk visits per week.
- Lobby kiosk is available during regular visiting hours.
Visitation Rules
- No food, drink, or tobacco in lobby areas.
- Keep voices at a moderate level.
- Proper attire is required—no nudity.
- No cameras, recording equipment, or cell phone photography.
- Visitors under 18 must be immediate family, accompanied by a parent/guardian, or legally married to the inmate.
- All visitors and inmates must act respectfully.
- Visitors suspected of carrying contraband may be searched or denied entry.
- Bringing contraband is a criminal offense.
- Each visit is limited to 20 minutes.
- No contact visits are permitted.
- Misbehavior may result in revoked visitation privileges.
- Intoxicated visitors will be arrested.
- Visitors may only see the inmate they’re approved to visit.
Note: Clergy accounts are not approved. Clergy may create standard visitor accounts to schedule visits.
Co-defendants and individuals with active no-contact orders will not be approved for visitation.
Bonds & Bail Information
- Cash only — exact amount required.
- Bonds are accepted 24/7 at the jail.
- Surety bondsmen must be registered with the Owen County Clerk.
Sex Offender Registration
Registered sex offenders who live, work, or attend school in Owen County must register in person at the jail:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Fee: $50 annual registration fee
- Bring documentation for any changes (e.g., vehicle registration)
Background Checks
To request a local background check:
- Visit the Owen County Security Center lobby.
- Fill out the background check request form.
- Submit it to a Jail Officer.
- Pick up your completed check the next day after 7:00 AM.
Medical Services
If an inmate requires medication:
- Bring their medication to the Owen County Security Center.
- All medications must be approved by our medical team before distribution.
Our facility is staffed with qualified medical personnel to ensure the health and safety of all inmates.
