EMS Page

Brandon Worked for Owen County EMS for 12 years prior to his death in the line of duty on 8/8/2021.  Brandon was a Licensed Paramedic and worked in EMS for 15 1/2 years. He had become a Paramedic that all should model themselves after.  Brandon quickly moved through the ranks at Owen County, becoming a shift supervisor then becoming the assistant Director.

Brandon pushed to be the best Paramedic possible and lead the charge to assure all of our staff was providing quality care to every patient. Brandon became interested in reducing the infant mortality rate of Owen County, and assisted in bringing  a Safe sleep program to the area.

On 8/8/2021 Brandon responded to a severe auto accident that left the roadway. The accident involved 4 patients.   Access to patients was difficult due to the immediate terrain.  After traversing the terrain, two pediatric patients were transferred to the waiting ambulance where Brandon and his partner treated their injuries while a firefighter drove them to the hospital. During the course of getting the patients and equipment from the accident scene to the ambulance Brandon developed Chest pain. Brandon continued to care for the patients, initiating IV's and assessing the patients for further care.  Brandon went unconscious while enroute to the hospital.  Brandon was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital and did not regain consciousness.

Owen County EMS is grateful for the service Brandon Provided to the residents of this county. Brandon has left a huge hole in many hearts and has left a legacy that will be difficult to match.

Brandon leaves behind a wife, son, daughter in-law and two granddaughters, All of whom he loved dearly.
