Owen County is served by a Unified Circuit Court System (Court I & Court II) in the 78th Judicial Circuit of Indiana.
Court II handles: Civil Tort; Civil Plenary; Civil Collections; Mortgage Foreclosure; Domestic Relations; Paternity; Reciprocal Support Actions; Juvenile CHINS/Child Welfare; Juvenile Miscellaneous; Termination of Parental Rights; Small Claims; Protective Orders; and other miscellaneous case types. Judge Hanlon took office January 1, 2015.

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
(Courtroom & office on 2nd floor)
Jury Trials
Scheduled one Wednesday per month, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (with one-hour lunch). Jurors are notified in advance and must return a questionnaire. To request excusal or deferral, submit a written request (medical excuses require a physician’s statement).
