Owen County is served by a Unified Circuit Court System (Court I & Court II) in the 78th Judicial Circuit of Indiana.
Circuit Court I processes: Criminal; Juvenile Delinquent; Juvenile Miscellaneous; Adoptions; Estates; Guardianships; and other miscellaneous filings.
Office Hours & Sessions
Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM & 1:00 PM–4:00 PM
Thursday evening Traffic Court: 4:00 PM
Initial criminal hearings: Mondays & Thursdays at 1:00 PM in the Circuit Court I courtroom.
Jury trials: One Tuesday per month, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (with one-hour lunch). Jurors are summoned in advance and must return a completed questionnaire. Excusal or deferral requests must be made in writing (medical excuses require a physician’s statement).
